Easter 2012 (continued...)

I had some trouble getting all of the photos to upload on the below post...

Brooklyn's Sunday School teachers were able to get the below photo for me.  I've also included a picture of this group from last year.

From left: Charlie, Brooklyn, Ian, Emma, and Kallie.

We had a GREAT weekend visiting with family and friends, hunting Easter eggs, etc., but most importantly celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Easter 2012

Well...I had hoped not to take an entire year to update my blog.  But, here we are...one year later.  It seems only fitting to add photos from our Easter weekend festivities, given those were my last two posts.  Time sure does seem to fly...especially as I look back and reflect on the last two posts.  Those sweet little chubby baby cheeks have turned into the most adorable little, kissable toddler cheeks I've ever seen!

On Wednesday, I had the priviledge to attend Brooklyn's Easter Egg Hunt at school.  Those little kiddos were so cute!  They ran all over the playground and most of them knew exactly what to do.  Brooklyn had a blast!!!  She found lots of eggs.  They had really cool prizes inside.  One of the eggs had a princess necklace, which you'll notice she's worn everyday since by some of the photos below.  Another one had a little Pooh Bear figurine, which she has proudly cared for since Wednesday.  Another one had Dora socks and a Dora braclet...and yes, they both were worn to church on Wednesday night despite the major clashing with her outfit.  Her sense of style often reminds me of the old McDonald's commercial with the little girls who come into the store with all of there princess dress-up clothes on.  :)  The below pic is some of Brooklyn and some of her school friends just before the hunt started.  Oh, I forgot to add...it was extremely cute...they all squealed with joy as their teacher Ms. Michelle opened the door to let them run out.  It's was so sweeet to see how excited they became.

Saturday morning we headed out for the annual Bellevue Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt.  Pop and Nana surprised us by driving up and Aunt JuJu and the kiddos came too.  Brooklyn was not to sure about the massive crowd when it was her turn to hunt eggs, but she loved tasting the treats for the few eggs she did pick-up.  Brooklyn and her friend Emma sat and ate lots of candy!

Whew!  Jacob has his hands full!  He picked up Hadlee and Brooklyn thought he should hold her too!  Emma had her face painted, but Brooklyn would wasn't to sure about that either.  They all had lots of fun!  Even Hadlee found a basket full of eggs.

Later that night Brooklyn helped Andy and I make a few things for lunch on Sunday.  Lots of love went into these pinwheels.  She had flour over every inch of her, I think.  She is such a great little helper!  It might be a big mess, but it's worth the memories and clean-up.

The Easter Bunny filled her basket and left it on the front porch.  Here she is checking it out and looking for the eggs he hid for her at our house.  The second picture makes me laugh.  She had to open every egg, as she found each one to see what was inside.  Needless to say, we did not make it to early service.  She was so excited to find her treats!

Last year, as is usually the case, we were running late for church and decided to take "Easter Pictures" afterwards.  Well, that was a disaster.  A tired and hungry 1 year old (at the time) did not make for the happiest of pictures.  Since we were not going to make it to early church, we had a few extra minutes.  So outside we go to "try" and get a pretty picture.   She's been fascinated lately with climbing on this cable box??? thing in the yard.  That didn't change today, even though she had a beautiful WHITE dress on.  Fortunately, it wasn't to dirty after the big rain last week.  Here she is oh so proud of climing on that thing by herself.  That was about the end of our photo shoot at home.  We did "try" to get a few more after church again this year.  The best we could do was letting her play under this little tree at church that all of the kids like to "pick the apples" from.

My pretty little princess.

Easter 2011

Hello Blogger Friends!!!  Well, it's been almost a year since I've posted anything...time flies...and better late than never...at least that's what people say.  I wanted to share a few pics from our weekend.  As usual we were running late this morning and didn't get any pictures before church.  I have a few in this post that we took at church before heading back home.  A friend of ours took some other pictures this afternoon...I'll add some of those in a seperate post.  He did a great job!!!...but our little one did not get finished with her nap, so some of them show our not so wonderful side when we are sleep deprived.  Hope you all enjoy!!!

My favorite...Reece's Peanut Butter Cups!

Picture after church.  She was so incredibly sleepy...all the babies were today!  The only way she would cooperate was by holding this stick...so a stick we held.

Our little egg hunter did quite well at the Easter Egg Hunt yesterday.  She had at least 10 eggs and 2 prize eggs.  We had lots of fun!!!

Getting there...

We hope you all are doing well.  I had really gotten behind on my blog.  I'm trying to get it caught up.  So far, I've made it thru Easter weekend.  Keep checking back, as I hope to get the rest of the way by next weekend.  Our little one has grown so much since my last posts back in February.  Stay tuned for more to come (including some pics of the flood).  Have a great week!!!

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on its Way!

Easter weekend was really fun.  Ashley and Maddux came to visit on Thursday before Easter (4/1) and stayed thru the annual BBC Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.  Ashley and Maddux went to the zoo on Friday while Brooklyn and I went to school/work.  Maddux was so tired when they got back from the zoo that he fell asleep on the landing at the top of our stairs.  Too funny!!!  After Brooklyn and I got home Ashley and I took the kiddos to the mall.  While I was there I ordered Brooklyn a swimsuit for the summer that I'd been eyeing for a while.  It is SO cute.  I can hardly wait to see her in it...she loves bath time, so I'm sure she'll enjoy hanging out at the neighborhood pools this summer too.  On Saturday, Grandddad and Nana drove up to visit and go to the egg hunt with us.   Well, as luck would have it...someone stopped an exit out from us to buy gas and acciedently pumped disel into the tank.  Oops!!!  After a few quick calls, we quickly got them a tow truck and found someone who could fix the car for them that day.  Amazing!  Here are several pictures from the Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Sunday.

I have to share this picture...Brooklyn is such a happy camper and is all smiles most of the time, but on occasion...she's like all other babies and has a little crying spell.  She was so tired before the egg hunt.  We wanted to get pictures of her in the "sea" of eggs, so we took her little bumbo chair to the egg hunt.  Well, to get a picture without a shadow, she had to be facing the sun.  Tired + sun in my eyes = Unhappy Brooklyn!

Granddad, Nana, and Brooklyn

My little sweetheart!

Brooklyn scooping out her Easter basket from Granddad and Nana.  She really had lots of fun rattling the paper.

Brooklyn's first Easter morning.  The "Easter Bunny" left her a few books this year, including the Legend of the Three Trees.  I had never read this book until this year and immediately fell in love with it.  Her other new reads included a little Bible with a sing-a-long CD, a Precious Moments book called "Loving," and "Love you Forever."  Auntie Laurie sent her the adorable little basket for Christmas.  It even has her name monogrammed on the back.  It was really cute!!!

So, I had to have a close-up of her little shoes.  They are so precious!!!

Mommy nad Brooklyn playing after church.

Just chillling in the exersaucer...

Ms. Angela let us borrow their exersaucer (a huge Thank You to the Pace's).  Brooklyn has so much fun playing it in.  Here is one of the first times she was in it (3/29...a day shy of 21 weeks old).

Our Youngest Honduras Helper!

On Sunday, the 28th, many of our Honduras team members met at church to start packing boxes and pills.  So how does a 4-month old help?  She sweetly observes us all and offers the most adorable smiles!

19 Weeks Old

Wow! Brooklyn is changing and growing so very fast. On Wednesday (3/17) she rolled over from her back to her stomach without any assistance at all (she'd been doing it for a couple of weeks with very little assistance) and she laughed at Star. That was so cute. She really does love Star. She always tries to pet her. I hope they'll be best buds!!! On Thursday (3/18) she found her toes. While this may seem a little late in the development world, I must add that she really hasn't had a chance to find them yet. With it being so cold until now, I've kept her bundled up so much that she didn't have a chance at touching her toes. Poor girl. It's really fun to watch her grow and explore all sorts of new things. I adore hearing her laugh and seeing her smile. It would brighten anyone's day!!!

The pics below of her laying down are from Wednesday and the ones of us going for a walk are from Thursday. Our dear friends Jennifer and Ainsley joined us on Thursday for a walk. It was fun and so cute to watch Ainsley and Brooklyn interact.

Yum, Yum

Well, Saturday (3/13) we started feeding Brooklyn rice cereal.  We made it just like the package said, you know...so it's almost like drinking milk.  Well, Brooklyn did great sitting in her high chair and eating from the spoon right away...BUT, she didn't like the consistency of it.  I think she thought she was working extra hard for her milk.  So on Sunday when we made her cereal, we thickened it up a bit.  She loved it, and I really do mean LOVED it.
