6 Weeks Old
Our beautiful baby girl is six weeks old today. Tonight after Andy got home from work we laid her on a little mat to play with her. After talking with her for a little bit while she was lying on her back, I turned her over on her tummy. She pushed up and looked around for a few seconds, then she rolled over. I thought maybe it was by chance, so I flipped her back on her tummy and she did it again. Andy grabbed the video camera and we captured her rolling over two more times. It was so exciting!!!
Pretty little dresses and bows
Today (12/14) was a gorgeous day in Nashville...almost 65 degrees outside. Brooklyn and I took the opportunity to get out of the house on such a beautiful day. We went to visit my coworkers. It was so great to see everyone.
I had to dress her up for this outing. This little dress was Emma's first Christmas dress. I was so excited that Brooklyn would get to wear it too. Emma was born in September, so she was a month and half older than Brooklyn will be at Christmas. I excitedly put this little dress on her only to quickly discover it was way to big for her. I thought about taking it off, but just couldn't do it. I think she looks beautiful in it!!!
In this picture, Brooklyn said she was all done with the camera.
"Going to Grandma's"
For those of you about my age, you may remember the little red suitcases from our childhood that said "Going to Grandma's"...I just had to clone that phrase. Thursday (12/10) my parents came to Nashville for an appointment and Brooklyn and I went home with them. This was her first big trip and she was fabulous!!! She slept all the way there. On the way through Lexington, we stopped to visit my Granny, who will be 91 on March 1. What a special lady!!! I hadn't seen her in 3 months...the longest I've ever gone without seeing her, or going back home. It was a very long over due trip!!!
Four generations...
Brooklyn is a very lucky little girl to have all of her grandparents and a great grandmother in her life. We thank God for all of them!
Here is a picture of Brooklyn napping with Pop (aka, my Daddy). Pop and his recliner does a number on little ones. I can't remember how many times I've seen him rock babies to sleep in his chair. It started with my brother Daniel 20 years ago, then Jacob, then Emma, and now Brooklyn.
Friday was my birthday and what better way to celebrate than to go shopping. :) Brooklyn and I met my mom after work and we went shopping. Brooklyn and Nana were both troopers!!! Brooklyn slept all the way to meet Nana, slept while we visited Nana's co-workers, and slept through a trip to the mall. She loves to ride!!! Thanks so much mom, I had a great time shopping with you! After the mall, we went to visit my cousin Tobey, who'd had his wisdom teeth out that day. Tobey is graduating next Saturday from UTM. We are so proud of him!!! On the way home, we stopped and got take-out from Olive Garden. Yum, yum. Andy drove down after his bball game and made it just in the nick of time to see me on my birthday. It was a great day!
Saturday was a very busy day. Our family, my sister's family, and my brother all went to get our pictures taken. I have to give a huge thanks to Ms. Stephani at Classic Photography in Lexington...she did an amazing job taking our pictures and was so patient with all of us. Kudos!!! After pictures we went to visit my Granny again, who'd moved nursing homes on Friday. Her new home is great...I think it will be a great change for her. Then we visited my Aunt Judy. We were so excited to see her and we got to visit with Alicia (Judy's daughter) and her family while we were there. How fun!!! It was really cute to see Alexis, Alicia's daughter, hold Brooklyn. Aunt Judy got a great picture of them...I'll get a copy and post it soon. Julie and her family were at my parent's house when we got back home that night. We all watched Four Christmas's together. Here's a picture of Julie and Emma holding Brooklyn during the movie. I think it took us like four hours to watch the whole thing, but we had fun times!!!
Sunday we headed back to Nashville. Our little Brooklyn slept all the way home! We are so thankful she likes to ride. With both of families being out of town, it would be a difficult trip if she didn't like it.
Sunday night was our first trip to church as a family. It was really special. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera. I need to get better about that!!!
5 Weeks Old
Our precious little girl was 5 weeks old today (12/8). It's so hard to believe she's been with us now for 5 weeks. I remember thinking when I first learned I was pregnant that 40 weeks seemed like forever...then as it got closer to time for her to arrive those 40 weeks seemed as though they'd flown by. These last 5 weeks have flown by. We try to cherish every moment!
She was so good to the camera today!!! I was able to capture her sweet little cheeky smile.
Thank you Ms. Mandy for the cute little Christmas outfit!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
We finally got all of our indoor Christmas decorations up on Thursday (12/3). I think that was the latest they may have ever gone up in our house. It's very different to decorate with a newborn, but we are so greatful for the experience! The outdoor decorations went up yesterday (12/5). Yippee!!!
Here she is in her second outfit of the day.
Andy stayed home with Brooklyn this morning (12/6) and let me go to church. We look forward to all going together as a family soon. Before I left, I had picked out one of Brooklyn's Christmas outfits for her to wear, and Andy was changing her into it as I was walking out the door. When I got home she was getting another change of clothes. She makes me laugh so much...she is notorious for messing up clothes when she stays with Daddy.
Here she is in her second outfit of the day.
Sweet Little Angel (12/4)
I just had to share this photo...My Aunt Connie sent her this little outfit. She looks so angelic in it!!!
Daddy had a little trouble with this one though...I woke up the next morning and her legs were crisscrossed in the legs of the sleeper. It was so funny!
Do you ever wonder what little babies are thinking about? Brooklyn makes little faces like the one below and it just makes me wonder what she's thinking about.

One Month Old
Our sweet baby girl turned one month old today!!! I think these pictures are so adorable, but don't worry I didn't let her cry long. She has the cutest pouty lip I've ever seen.
29 Days Old
Well, I'm so disappointed in myself...I was doing so good to capture a daily photo...until today... I missed getting one today. :( Since tomorrow she'll be one month old, I think I'll start taking a weekly photo...unless of course I get carried away with the camera. :)

4 Weeks Old
We can hardly believe our little girl is 4 weeks old today. We are enjoying every minute!!! She is absolutely precious!!!
On a seperate note...the Christmas decorations made it out of the attic today, and the tree is assembled. Hopefully, the decorations will go up tomorrow or Thursday. ;)

26 Days Old
Brooklyn loves for people to talk to her. She often smiles when Mommy and Daddy just sit and talk to her. We tried to capture her beautiful smile/happy face, but the camera just isn't quick enough.
Mommy and Daddy had tickets to the Titans game today with the Didions, so Brooklyn needed her first sitter(s). A big thanks to Pop and Nana for coming back up to watch her. We had a great time at the game!

25 Days Old
Wow, we started today with big plans...finish the back door, put up Christmas decorations, and finish some art work for Brooklyn's room. As you all know, with an infant in the house, things rarely go as planned, but we all enjoyed spending the day together.
These are pictures of Brooklyn watching Mommy and Daddy work on the back door.

24 Days Old (also Black Friday)
This was the first year in many, that Mommy didn't go shopping on Black Friday, but it was nice that we all got to sleep in.
Today was another exciting day. Granddad, Nana, Ashley, and Maddux came to visit us. We had lots of fun just hanging out. Mommy forgot to get the camera out until later that evening after everyone had left. :( They'll have to come back real soon and we'll be sure to get pictures then.
Later this evening we had an appointment at church to get our pictures made for the new directory. We were so tired, but decided to go ahead and go. Ms. Lisa, from our church, took a few pictures for us on our camera after we got through with the Olan Mills crew.

23 Days Old and Happy Thanksgiving
We wish everyone a very blessed Thanksgiving!!! While parts of this year have been very difficult and hard for our family, we have been very, very blessed and have so much to be thankful for. We hope you all enjoy this day and don't forget to count your blessings.
This was the first year we've ever spent in Nashville for Thanksgiving. Pop, Julie and Heath drove up this morning to join the rest of us. Mommy got up early to cook for everyone. We had a great time, and Mommy really can cook. :)

Lunch time...Yum, Yum!!!
Brooklyn took full advantage of napping with the other sleepy heads (a.k.a., Pop and Uncle Heath).
The pictures continue...we had to get pictures in both of her little Thanksgiving outfits. Since the one in the pictures below made her look more like a little boy, we had to make a little hairbow for her.
We were so thankful Pop, Nana, Daniel, Julie, Heath, Jacob and Emma came to see us and have lunch with us. They all had to go back home this afternoon for our annual dinner with Pop's family. This is a picture of Star after everyone left...she was so, so tired.
22 Days Old
Today Mommy and Brooklyn spent the afternoon getting ready for our guests for the weekend...well, Brooklyn just chilled in her cradle, while Mommy did some final cleaning.
Tonight, Nana, Daniel, Jacob and Emma came to visit and spend the night with us. Jacob and Emma each took a turn feeding Brooklyn, and then they helped Mommy give Brooklyn a bath.
After Brooklyn went to bed, Emma helped Mimmy (aka Kim) make a cheesecake and a chocolate pie for Thanksgiving. It was a late night, but we had lots and lots of fun!!!
