8 Weeks Old

Our precious baby girl (even though this sleeper kind of makes her look like a little boy...I'm sure she'll forgive us.) at 8 weeks old.

Here's our beautiful little girl all dressed up (minus the bow that was added later) for church on the 3rd.  Thank you to Ms. Carlene for the gorgeous dress!!!

More Christmas Vacation Pics

Julie had an appointment to be at, so I kept all three of them by myself.  Go Mimmy (as Jacob and Emma call me) and Mommy!!!  We had lots of fun.  Jacob even put Brooklyn to sleep.  Funny though...I went to take Star out for a walk, and when I got back she was awake.  Hum....wonder if the Emma fairy woke her up?

Nana and Emma playing the aquarium game on Facebook.  I don't know which one of them is more addicted to it.

Pop sitting back taking it all in.

Christmas with the Taylors

On Saturday morning after Christmas, we celebrated with my mom's family.  We've always had nontraditional Christmas meals and this year was breakfast.  It was so yummy!!!  It's always a lot of fun there, because all the little kids get to play and the big kids play dirty santa.  It was so sad not to have our Uncle Tim there this year, but he was with us in spirit!  Here are a few pics of our celebration!!!

All the little kiddos...Emma, Jacob, Lexie, Brooklyn, Addie, and Kate.  They had been playing so hard all morning, and Emma, and Kate just didn't want to have their picture made.  Aren't they all adorable?  God has richly blessed all of us with each of them!

Alicia put it best...The whole gang minus Heath, Misty and Paul. Top row from left:  Tobey, Nana, Jacob, Pop, Addie, Lexie, Brandon, Aunt Judy.  Bottom row, from left:  Daniel, Mommy, Brooklyn, Julie, Emma, Erin, Kate, Jeremy, Alicia, and Daddy.  We all had a tough year with the loss of my uncle, but God has brought us through it and will bless us.  I love you all!!!

Christmas Day 2009

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!!!  We hope you all have a blessed day and don't forget the true meaning of this time of year.

We spent the night with Pop and Nana last night.  After breakfast, we were off to see Granddad and Nana, and the Ursery's (a.k.a., Aunt Ashley's family).  I forgot to mention on my last post that Brooklyn slept through all of the festivities.  Well, today was no different, she slept through everything again.  So you notice me opening her presents and posing them for pictures so we have memories of her first Christmas.

Later in the afternoon, we headed back towards Lexington to have dinner with Pop's family.  I think I only captured a few pics there...I'll have to get more from some of our relatives.

My sweet Granny and Brooklyn.  We are truly blessed to have her with us!!!  I love you Granny!!!

Cousin Andy and Brooklyn...she passed out in his arms.

We had a great day visiting with everyone!!!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we headed to West Tennessee.  Mommy was a bit stressed...we didn't leave Nashville until 4 p.m....I don't think we've ever left so late.  A quick call and nana made it all better when she said "Don't worry about it, it'll be okay."  I don't think you ever get to old to her your mom say that, and I was really needing it today.  We had dinner with mommy's family and opened presents.  Then most of us headed to Highland Park Baptist Church to hear my cousin Tobey sing in their Candelight Service.  For those of you who don't know, Tobey is my uncle Tim's son.   My uncle passed away in June this year very unexpectedly.  I must say Tobey made him very, very proud tonight!!!  I knew he could sing, but I don't thnk I've ever heard a better rendition of "O Holy Night" ever in my life!!!  Great job Tobey!!!

Here's a picture of our little "Santa Baby" before we left for our big adventure to West Tennessee.

These are the photo boards I made for Jacob and Emma.  They were so excited!!!

Seven Weeks Old

Brooklyn turned seven weeks old today (12/22) and we went to a Christmas luncheon for my coworkers at Dennis's home.  Dennis's wife, Ms. Brenda, was so kind to us.  She offered to hold Brooklyn while I ate and visited with everyone.  Thank you, Ms. Brenda!!!

Brooklyn also got to meet Reese and Rylee, my coworker Jarrod's new twin girls, which turned out to be the only picture I took today (my camera may go into shock!).

In the picture (from left to right) is Janie holding Rylee, Brenda holding Brooklyn, and Cathy holding Reese.

On another note, Brooklyn found her hands this week and we've already began to fight over no fingers being in her mouth.  She also started blowing bubbles and sticking her tongue out deliberately.  She is just too cute!!!

Youth Christmas Party

Brooklyn attended her first BBC Youth Event tonight (12/22).  Unfortunately, Mommy didn't have her camera for evidence.  A huge thanks to Ms. Kimberly Shelton for rocking Ms. Brooklyn, so mommy could participate in some of the festivities.

Our First Christmas Card with Brooklyn

So, we debated whether or not to send Christmas cards out this year.  As you all know, bringing a little one home brings along a whole host of new responsibilities.  It took almost a week to get all of our Christmas decorations up this year.  Today (12/20) was the first Sunday morning we all went to church together.  Given the fact we were all dressed up, we thought we'd try to get a picture of all four of us (Star included).  If we did, then we'd make a dash to get cards out.  Well, we set up the tripod and the automatic timer and away we went.  It was very comical.  I held Brooklyn in one arm and wrangled Star with the other until Andy could set the timer and dash across the room to position himself and Star.  Here are a few of the funny ones, and the winner!

My new friend Emma

Our dear friends Kendall and Carlene welcomed a new baby girl on the 13th, and tonight (12/18) we went to meet Ms. Emma Grubb.  Here is a picture of the pround papas and their girls.

Laurie came to visit

Mommy's best friend Laurie had to come to Nashville for a meeting (12/17) and came a little early so she could meet me in person.  We had a great time!!!  I can't wait to meet Laurie's girls, Christina and Emily.  We'll have lots of fun playing some day.

6 Weeks Old

Our beautiful baby girl is six weeks old today.  Tonight after Andy got home from work we laid her on a little mat to play with her.  After talking with her for a little bit while she was lying on her back, I turned her over on her tummy.  She pushed up and looked around for a few seconds, then she rolled over.  I thought maybe it was by chance, so I flipped her back on her tummy and she did it again.  Andy grabbed the video camera and we captured her rolling over two more times.  It was so exciting!!!

Pretty little dresses and bows

Today (12/14) was a gorgeous day in Nashville...almost 65 degrees outside.  Brooklyn and I took the opportunity to get out of the house on such a beautiful day.  We went to visit my coworkers.  It was so great to see everyone.

I had to dress her up for this outing.  This little dress was Emma's first Christmas dress.  I was so excited that Brooklyn would get to wear it too.  Emma was born in September, so she was a month and half older than Brooklyn will be at Christmas.  I excitedly put this little dress on her only to quickly discover it was way to big for her.  I thought about taking it off, but just couldn't do it.  I think she looks beautiful in it!!!

In this picture, Brooklyn said she was all done with the camera.

"Going to Grandma's"

For those of you about my age, you may remember the little red suitcases from our childhood that said "Going to Grandma's"...I just had to clone that phrase.  Thursday (12/10) my parents came to Nashville for an appointment and Brooklyn and I went home with them.  This was her first big trip and she was fabulous!!!  She slept all the way there.  On the way through Lexington, we stopped to visit my Granny, who will be 91 on March 1.  What a special lady!!!  I hadn't seen her in 3 months...the longest I've ever gone without seeing her, or going back home.  It was a very long over due trip!!!

Four generations...

Brooklyn is a very lucky little girl to have all of her grandparents and a great grandmother in her life.  We thank God for all of them!

Here is a picture of Brooklyn napping with Pop (aka, my Daddy).  Pop and his recliner does a number on little ones.  I can't remember how many times I've seen him rock babies to sleep in his chair.  It started with my brother Daniel 20 years ago, then Jacob, then Emma, and now Brooklyn.

Friday was my birthday and what better way to celebrate than to go shopping.  :)  Brooklyn and I met my mom after work and we went shopping.  Brooklyn and Nana were both troopers!!!  Brooklyn slept all the way to meet Nana, slept while we visited Nana's co-workers, and slept through a trip to the mall.  She loves to ride!!!  Thanks so much mom, I had a great time shopping with you!  After the mall, we went to visit my cousin Tobey, who'd had his wisdom teeth out that day.  Tobey is graduating next Saturday from UTM.  We are so proud of him!!!  On the way home, we stopped and got take-out from Olive Garden.  Yum, yum.  Andy drove down after his bball game and made it just in the nick of time to see me on my birthday.  It was a great day!

Saturday was a very busy day.  Our family, my sister's family, and my brother all went to get our pictures taken.  I have to give a huge thanks to Ms. Stephani at Classic Photography in Lexington...she did an amazing job taking our pictures and was so patient with all of us.  Kudos!!!  After pictures we went to visit my Granny again, who'd moved nursing homes on Friday.  Her new home is great...I think it will be a great change for her.  Then we visited my Aunt Judy.  We were so excited to see her and we got to visit with Alicia (Judy's daughter) and her family while we were there.  How fun!!!  It was really cute to see Alexis, Alicia's daughter, hold Brooklyn.  Aunt Judy got a great picture of them...I'll get a copy and post it soon.  Julie and her family were at my parent's house when we got back home that night.  We all watched Four Christmas's together.  Here's a picture of Julie and Emma holding Brooklyn during the movie.  I think it took us like four hours to watch the whole thing, but we had fun times!!!

Sunday we headed back to Nashville.  Our little Brooklyn slept all the way home!  We are so thankful she likes to ride.  With both of families being out of town, it would be a difficult trip if she didn't like it.

Sunday night was our first trip to church as a family.  It was really special.  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera.  I need to get better about that!!!
